Our Maternal‑Fetal Medicine (MFM) Sonographer Training Program is designed for experienced OB sonographers who want to advance their clinical abilities, strengthen their high‑risk imaging skills, and gain confidence working in a specialized MFM environment. 

Topics covered:

Our curriculum includes both lecture-based learning and hands‑on scanning with expert guidance:

• AIUM‑recommended imaging for first and second trimester detailed anatomy

• Identification of common anatomical variants

• Spectral Doppler: umbilical artery, middle cerebral artery, and ductus venosus

• Dichorionic vs. monochorionic twins and complications that can arise (TTTS, SFGR, TAPS, etc.)

• Recognition of common fetal abnormalities, including fetal cardiac anomalies

• Critical thinking skills

• Advanced image optimization techniques

Who Should Attend:

• Experienced OB sonographers who want to advance their clinical abilities, strengthen their high‑risk imaging skills, and gain confidence working in a specialized MFM environment. 

Pre-requisites:

• Hold a current ARDMS OB/GYN credential (or equivalent)

• Have 1+ year of OB ultrasound experience within a dedicated OBGYN or MFM department

• Are proficient with:

  • First‑trimester viability and dating scans

  • Second and third‑trimester anatomy surveys

  • Growth scans and BPPs

• Can confidently operate and optimize ultrasound equipment

• Want to grow professionally and transition toward MFM-level imaging
