Advanced training for sonographers specializing in fetal cardiac imaging
Our Fetal Echo Training Program is designed for experienced MFM sonographers who want to strengthen their skills in fetal cardiac assessment.
Topics covered
Training includes lecture + hands‑on scanning covering:
AIUM‑recommended fetal echo screening views, including (but not limited to):
4‑chamber
LVOT/RVOT
3‑vessel view (3VV) and 3‑vessel‑trachea view (3VTV)
Aortic and ductal arches
Venous connections (IVC/SVC)
Spectral Doppler techniques, such as:
Proper angle and gate placement Doppler settings for accurate waveforms (ductus venosus, pulmonary veins, AV valves etc.)
Safe and appropriate Doppler use in fetal cardiac imaging
Cardiac biometry, including:
Chamber and valve measurements
Great vessel diameters
Understanding normal ranges and measurement technique
Image optimization for moving cardiac structures, focusing on:
Adjusting depth, gain, focus, and frame rate
Techniques for improving visualization
Use of zoom, cine, and magnification to enhance clarity

Standard fetal cardiac views (4CH, LVOT, RVOT, 3VV, 3VTV, AA, DA, IVC/SVC)
Color Doppler use
Assessing fetal situs
Detailed high‑risk anatomy surveys
